1938 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Pourtout Sports Roadster of Mark Hyman
This time (at Pebble Beach Concours 2018) automotive legend Ed Fallon hooks up with Mark Hyman of ultra exclusive Hyman Ltd., St. Louis. Mark brought his just restored 1938 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Pourtout Sports Roadster. Coincidently, the exact same make and model that Ed had entered at Pebble back in 2004, and with which he won his class and then later sold to Mark. This set Mark onto a trajectory to really, deeply love these Peugeots. Emile Darl’mat was a passionate Peugeot dealer in the 1930s, who offered custom-bodied Peugeots that where designed by George Paulin and then built by Marcel Pourtout. The 1938 DS 402 Darl’mats were a very limited run of production road and competition cars. Three where entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and one finished 5th overall and won its class. Only 53 road cars were ever built and it turns out that Mark now owns four of them. Check out the beautiful car and find out why Mark is so passionate about cars in general.
